Litigation

Sarah is ready to protect her clients’ interests whenever a dispute or misunderstanding threatens to land their company in court. She is a full-time litigator who practices in state and federal courts as well as in administrative agencies. She also provides representation in alternative dispute resolution forums such as arbitration and mediation.

Sarah handles a wide range of matters including commercial and corporate disputes, employment issues, governmental matters, including public education issues.

She is intimately familiar with the litigation process, from trial by judge or jury to briefing and argument before appellate courts. She understands what it takes to win a case and what it means to pursue a client’s goals aggressively. At the same time, she also understands that litigation can be an expensive and difficult experience for a client, and litigation, or at least litigation to the conclusion of a matter, is often not the answer to the problem. She always focuses on clients’ individual goals and how they can best be achieved. Sarah understands that negotiation and alternative dispute resolution are often preferable to protracted litigation.

Several specific disputes she handles are litigation involving breach of contract and contractual commitments; employment litigation and contract and severance disputes; trade-secret or noncompetition litigation; civil rights and constitutional litigation; and Right-to-Know litigation.
