Sarah C. Yerger
Concentrating in the area of employment and labor law and litigation for nearly 30 years, Sarah has amassed a wide range of knowledge and abilities to effectively advise both public and private-sector clients in state and federal courts in addition to administrative matters before the EEOC, PHRC, PLRB, and NLRB. She has developed extensive experience handling complex litigation arising from workplace disputes including sexual and racial harassment; age, race, gender, religion and disability discrimination, wrongful discharge, retaliation, and other claims under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964; the Americans with Disabilities Act; the Age Discrimination in Employment Act; the Family and Medical Leave Act; and the Pennsylvania Wage Payment and Collection Law. She has experience drafting and reviewing employment contracts, non-compete agreements, and separation/severance agreements. Sarah routinely handles litigation in the federal district court in the Middle District of Pennsylvania and has litigated commercial disputes, licensing issues, regulatory concerns and employment-related matters.

Her community service is a string of successes and honors throughout central Pennsylvania. In 2017 she was named a “Woman of Influence” by the Central Penn Business Journal and in 2016 her law school alma mater Widener University Commonwealth Law School honored her with its Excellence in Public Service Award. Sarah is honored to have been selected once again as a Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer” by Philadelphia Magazine in 2021. She has been recognized as a Philadelphia Magazine Super Lawyer for the last ten years in private practice. In 2021, Sarah was selected to receive a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal. The award for which she is most proud is the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Commission on Women in the Profession’s Lynette Norton Award given to annually to a female attorney who is both an excellent litigator and a champion of mentoring others in the profession. She is a frequent lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, Dauphin County Bar Association, the Human Resource Professionals of Central Pa, and the Northeast Pa Manufacturers and Employers Association on various topics involving employment law and litigation.
Sarah is an active community volunteer and has been appointed to the Board of Directors of various non-profit organizations, serving on the American Heart Association Board for more than ten years. Sarah has spearheaded a gift for kids’ program through Dauphin County Children and Youth Services every year for more than 25 years and is currently in her second year of acting as attorney advisor for Trinity High School in the PBA’s mock trial competition. Sarah freely gives her time pro bono to mentor others in classrooms at the high school, college and law school levels.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys hiking, walking her dog, attending her childrens’ sporting events, and reading books with her Central Pa literary society. Sarah is married to Marty with two teenage children, John and Caroline.
